It’s so hard finding time to post and mess around with the blog right now – after a super busy period at work, I’m now in the midsts of planning moving to a new apartment. Bigger, brighter, much more beautiful. I’m absolutely psyched and dream about wall colors:-)
Nevertheless, I’ve finally managed to bind off the last stitches of my most favoured project about two weeks ago. I’m so proud! It’s based on Nancy Bush’s Child’s First Sock pattern from “Knitting Vintage Socks” and I’ve been heavily inspired by Craftoholic’s Mermaid Gloves.
I was contemplating ripping out the fingers because they turned out to be too short on the first handwarmer, but then I decided to keep them since they allow the pattern to stretch beautifully over the hand itself and really show those wonderful…uh… scales? Shells?
The yarn is from an online store’s sale last fall, a brand (SPORTIVO) that I didn’t know yet, but that colorway and the incredible price (3,99€) was so appealing! It’s a regular 75% wool, 25% polyester blend, super soft and a pleasure to knit with. I still have a lot left of that ball, and my daughter already requested a mini pair for herself:-)

gorgeous! i’ve been eyeing that stitch pattern myself lately
OMG!!!! You’re alive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*SQUEEEEE!!!!*
I was really thinking of you today and was checking out your blogspirit, but there was still no new entry. Now I can re-activate your link in my sidebar again! (make a new button so I can put it on my site!)
Welcome back to blog-land!
glad to have you back in blogland girl! Hope your move goes well, and those mitts are breathtakingly lovely
Best wristwarmers ever! Cool pattern, nice colors! Could you please post the pattern, so I can try to make them for my girlfriend?
Your handwarmers are gorgeous! I think they look even better than the pomatomus wrist/handwarmers. The join at the thumb with the pattern works very nicely.
